NOT QUITE KOSHER

An abstract play by AIP is the basis for the development of a video/sound installation through onsite explorations and filmed (documented) performances in public spaces and private environment in Vienna. Performances occurred in following locations: Karlsplatz, Heldenplatz, Stephansplatz, Graben, Volksgarten, Donaulände, Das Dorf, Schloss Schönbrunn, Narrenturm, Das Dorf. Not quite kosher is part of a bigger context of discovering different Emotional Seasons in society and diverse cities/urban places.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS: 

SABINE WUTSCHEK “Ihr seid wie Unkraut aufgewachsen”, sagte meine Mutter. 1964 geboren, als sechstes Kind, unbeachtet, mit der Natur im Garten verbunden, frei mir zu glauben was ich spürte. Meine Erfahrungen mit dem menschlichen und meinem Körper sind vielfältig, voller Lebensdiplome, dank vieler wunderbarer Menschen. Fazit: Mein Körper ist ein Geschenk! Nach zehn Jahren Kind und Familienpause zieht es mich seit Herbst 2008 stärker und ehrlicher denn je zurück in den Tanz und in den künstlerischen Ausdruck.

You grew up like weeds, my mother always said. I was born in 1964 as the sixth child, unnoticed, connected with the nature in our garden, free to think and believe what I felt. My experiences with the human body, and especially my own, are diverse, full of the practical experiences I was able to make in life so far, thanks to many wonderful people. Result: My body is a gift! After ten years of child and family break I returned to dance and artistic expression in autumn 2008, living now this passion stronger and more sincere than ever.

FRANZ SRAMEK aka FRANTSCHESKO seitdem mir meine große schwester den twist beigebracht hatte als ich sechs war, hat mich der tanz nicht mehr losgelassen! meine ausbildung: zwei jahrzente bei live-konzerten in front of the box. ab 2001 endlich auch dazu gestanden und in die öffentlichkeit getragen. wie, was, wann, wo: solos aka frantschesko. gruppen: schattenwerfer 2001-2005, www.SlowForward.org seit 2002. mitwirkung: diverse aktionen im tanzquartier, unter anderem 9X9, vimprodaco, annette tesarek, LABfactory und bei EMOTIONAL SEASONS – not quite koscher. mein herz, meine seele und sonst noch alles in mir muss/will tanzen/performen!

Since my sister showed me the twist, when I was six, I could not stop dancing anymore! My training: two decades of live-concerts in front of the box. Since 2001 finally admitting my passion publicly. Why, what, when and where: solos by me alias frantschesko. Group performances: schattenwerfer 2001-2005, www.SlowForward.org since 2002. participation: diverse performances at the tanzquartier Vienna, others like 9X9, vimprodaco, annette tesarek, LABfactory and within EMOTIONAL SEASONS – not quite kosher. My heart, my soul and everything else in me must and wants to dance and perform!

geb. 1970, aufgewachsen in Lengenfeld/Krems, lebt in Wien. Ausbildung: Ergotherapeutin (Kinder- und Jugendneuropädiatrie), Sensorische Integrationstherapie (J.Ayres), Kinder-Bobath-Therapie (Neurodevelopmental Treatment), Spiraldynamik®, Integrative Bewegungs- und Leibtherapie (H.Petzold). Künstlerische Bildung: Modern Dance bei Fabiana Pastorini, Zeitgenössischer Tanz bei Guillermo Horta Betancourt, Afro Dance bei Koffi Koko, Figuren-Theater-Mime bei Christian Suchy, Philippe Gaullier, Neville Tranter, Stimmbildung bei Mag.Monika Riedler. Ensemblemitglied “Metaffa Tanztheater” und “IMAGO Welser Figuren-Theater-Ensemble”, nationale und internationale Auftritte (u.a. in Belgien, Slowakei, Italien, Kanada)

ELISABETH M EITELBERGER
geb. 1974 in Linz. Ich interessiere mich für künstlerische Prozesse, würde mich aber selbst nicht als Künstlerin bezeichnen. Dazu fehlt mir die Kontinuität des Schaffenwollens. Eher Suchende, Entdeckerin, und der Ideologie verfallen, dass Kunst geschaffen werden muss und daher Leute braucht, die mit KünstlerInnen arbeiten und sie in ihrer Arbeit begleiten. Studierte Philosophie, Kunstgeschichte und Theaterwissenschaft an der Universität Wien. Danach Kulturarbeit an diversen österreichischen Institutionen. 2000 begründete ich gemeinsam mit bello benischauer ART IN PROCESS. Seither arbeite ich selbstständig und baue mein Wissen vorwiegend auf praktischen Erfahrungen auf.

born 1974 in Linz. I am interested in the various aspects of the artistic process, but would not call myself an artist. I don’t have this urge to produce continually. I am a searcher, discoverer and believer in the ideology that art is something that must happen within culture and therefore people are needed, who work with artists and accompany them within their work. I studied Philosophy, Art History and Theatre at the University of Vienna. After that I worked at various artistic institutions in Austria. In 2000 I co-founded ART IN PROCESS with new media artist bello benischauer. I have worked independently ever since under this partnership, collecting practical knowledge on various levels.

• Not quite kosher in Vienna results in an EndPresentation, an ArtFestival Live Performance and Interview – March to May 2010
• At Artspace in Sydney develops Fool’s Gold during a studio residency – July to August 2010
• In collaboration with SlowForward develops OffSeason for the Montmartre Art in the Park Festival Vienna – September 2010
• Internal Room sets again performances by international artists in relation to each other – August to October 2010
