LEIDFREUD

These two video&sound installations are based on a text in German by bello benischauer and a voice work by elisabeth m eitelberger, called Leid und Freud (Suffering and Joy) reflecting on Christian Tradition and meaning around Good Friday and Easter Sunday. How do we perceive joy in this world? How does (Western) civilisation today experience the many facets of suffering? The work addresses the great gap between western and underdeveloped countries and existing problematic issues concerning cultural difference despite globalisation.
