the EXHIBITION at the Kings Hotel Perth is EXTENDED to the 30th of June 2006! SOLO E X H I B I T I O N dates: 16.01.06 - 30.06.06, an overview of his two-dimensional work by touching on some of his series and most important themes...Bello's work explores the relationship between humans and nature - the polarity between man as a part of nature and man as the creator - leaving his mark on nature in every act from drawing with a stick in the sand to building a monument. But more to the point, his work expresses the deep connection he feels to the breadth of humanity. In a world defined by borders and divisions, Bello's work explores the fact that - despite the isms, ists, classes and clans we adopt - we are at base, simply human - and more alike than we are different. Bello is a passionate man who never hesitates to express his beliefs about what's right and what's wrong: He is passionate about the environment, about human rights, about the collision of ideals between Western Culture and the Third World and about crisis of identity in this age of global culture and yet, his works are quiet - allowing us to see the simple beauty of the world the way he sees it - full of rich patterns, layers, shadows and light. Bello's works are direct, energetic, joyful and full of the celebration of life. They are glimpses into the sweet, simple, loving and childlike soul of the man. SANDRA ADAMS, 2006
