my work philosophy
ACROSS THE BORDER: BODY ˆ OBJECT ˆ MEDIA ˆ SPACE

My special interest is the polarity between mankind and the artistically formed material - the object, starting from primitive archaic and ritual art forms of expression. That‚s how I develop real and virtual collages, which are created through the elements: BODY, OBJECT, MEDIA and SPACE using various techniques and medias.
I try to design a „documentary package‰ for the audience. ART IN PROCESS orientates its general work to the word <emballage>, which basically used for theatre terms in relation to object theatre, meaning „the wrapping or surrounding of a thing‰. The main focus is the idea of the synthesis of the arts in relation to a contemporary theme. Already existing art forms connect; time terms get redefined; space opens up for new forms of experience...
My work is a confrontation with myself as a woman, as woman of Western Society, as woman within. Masks, costumes, reflecting on different society-masks of women - based on self-observations and portrayals, which have multiple faces that develop in the working process a certain kind of work. My work does not reduce the female aspect to be sexual related and therefore reduced in its meaning, it is more the female and its powerful forces that are interesting for me to investigate. Motherhood, Archetypes, Heroine,Σ What strengths lay beneathΣ?

REVIEW 2007

- CONFERENCE
„Old Currents/New Blends: A Distillation of Art and Geography" is this year‚s theme of the NCECA (National Council on Education on Ceramic Arts conference) 2007 - 41st Annual Conference in Louisville, Kentucky USA
Kentucky International Convention Center - March 14-17:
it will include The Paperclay revolution a paper and slideshow by Graham Hay on March 15, 3pm-4pm, showing images of Australian artists working with paper clay.

including images of my work:
01. an image of the digital production PROJECT X... six transformations of life, 2005; six different masks were designed related to different stages of life. This photo shows the last stage of ≥Finally they die„. The mask is already only fragment and includes little mirrors reflecting sun beams - the mask is foretelling a transition stage between human life and some sort of universal existence. (paper clay, acrylic paint, finish)
02. mask of the same production, from 4. scene: ≥They reproduce themselves„
03: an Assemblage called: The Cry and its reverberation (Der Schrei und sein Widerhall ˆ the original German title is element of the Assemblage), a homage on Edward Munch‚s ≥The Cry„ in relation to the human being and nature ˆ conservation and ≥throwaway society„, 2002 (mixed medias on board, metal/paper clay/-mache/acrylic paint/ finish/natural objects ˆ wood, stones, shells)
04/05: two torsi from the series of six torsi called Ghostfaces. Paper clay/ -mache and acrylic paint/ finish, 2001; they were part of the installation Ghostfaces in connection to paintings and shell/silver- objects on a glass top and an audio-visual composition of the torsi
06: showing objects from a digital production that is in its developing stage, started 2006; mask, torso and puppet - for a digital production: self-identifications: a permanent in-memoriam (paper clay, plaster, acrylic paint, finish, wood, metal)

bio:
self-identifications: a permanent in-memoriam current work, 2006/07
