blue Child

  • Residency Project blue Child the world is seen as a blue planet, at MT Lawley SHS, September 2008

    Basis:
From outer space our world is seen as a blue planet...

    Artistic Abstract:
The blue Child is separated from the real world, reaching for attention.
The people it makes contact with, start to connect with it. First they have problems to communicate, fear to touch it, but then they start to create a community where everyone is meant to be part of something. Slowly they incorporate the blue Child but also create relationships among themselves.
Today we are urged to think global, should work together on protecting and rescuing our world. This furthermore needs us to tolerate all people on earth, to see that there are others affected by climate change - much more then we are. In complaining about lots of things we forget about the millions of people that starve to death.
We have to overcome ignorant behaviour, because the blue Child (or any other that seems different or far away) should not be ignored, patronised or excluded.
A starting point is to reach out for the people next to us. We are all the blue Child - in many ways we are all the same.
