Signs of investigation

Signs of investigation - Oil on Hardboard, 9-40x80cm, AUD $ 17000,- | EUR • 10800,-

This painting in 9 parts is inspired by controversive discussions about signs from outer space in corn fields around the globe. It addresses a possible documentation about earthly conditions from various distances. Photographic illustration, a passion for details, nearly scientific receptions... Who is watching us, our world, our globe? Is there anyone taking us seriously, or is it just us who think we are irreplaceable and important in cosmic terms? Human beings leave signs behind on the earth's surface, for example in form of agricultural landscaping and city structures. We tend to become aware of ourselves when we take off in our planes and change the view on things. Signs of investigation is the attempt to reverse the alien-story and make it a human one. Isn‚t it much more interesting to discover forms and structures built and designed by mankind? Land art that isn‚t art at all, nevertheless architectural work is art itself; but from a far distance even tyre prints on dirt roads form a spectacular structureΣ Lets look at some details, a riverbed, desert roads, grasses blown apart, Σ and experience the difference when we start looking at our own signs on earth, the combination of human constructions and natural, environmental conditions.
